The Butler Area Sewer Authority has extended its confidentiality agreement with Pennsylvania American Water Company for the second time, now until Aug. 31.

Duane McKee, BASA executive director, said the authority’s board of directors held a special meeting Friday morning, where they approved extending the confidentiality agreement with the water company.

The BASA board at their June meeting extended the agreement until the end of July.

McKee said the latest extension was approved because negotiations between the two entities are ongoing regarding the sale of the sewer plant to Pennsylvania American.
