William F. Clark Sr.

William Freeman Clark Sr., 69, of Derry Township, Westmoreland County, died Sunday at Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, Pa.

Born Aug. 6, 1935, in Export, Westmoreland County, he was a son of Samuel and Kathryn Whirlow Clark.

Mr. Clark was an Army veteran and a member of the Blairsville VFW Post 582. He also belonged to the Derry Ukrainian Society.

He retired in 1995 from Torrance State Hospital after 35 years.

He is survived by two sons, William F. Clark Jr. of Karns City and Timothy A. Clark of Butler; two daughters, Lori L. Clark of Butler and Debora K. Safranek of Slippery Rock; six grandchildren; three stepsons, Edward Richardson of Mount Pleasant, Mark Richardson of Las Vegas, Nev., and Robert Richardson of Cook Forest; three stepdaughters, Cindy Matthews of Mount Pleasant, Patty Schake of Greensburg and Diana Davis of Jeannette; 15 step-grandchildren; and 15 step-great-grandchildren.

A brother, Samuel F. Clark Jr. of Prattville, Ala.; four sisters, Linda Heilman of Burlington, N.C., Irene Mide of Cleveland, Ohio; Mary of Odessa, Fla., and Lydia Kaywood of Miami, Fla., also survive.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie "Betty" Grass Clark, who died March 17, 1999, and a brother.

CLARK - Friends of William Freeman Clark Sr., who died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today atSHOEMAKER FUNERAL HOME, 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville.
