Jeffrey Lynn Cherry

Jeffrey Lynn Cherry, 66, died Saturday at his home.

He was born May 30, 1950, in Butler to Samuel Regis and Antoinette Marie Ferrari Cherry. He was a native of Butler, but had resided for the past 23 years in the Nettleton and Amory areas.

He was a Biblical history teacher at Nettleton High School for the past 23 years and was a member of Faith Fellowship Alliance Church in Butler. He received a bachelor's degree from Toccoa Falls Bible College in Toccoa, Ga. He enjoyed reading his Bible, world history and being with his family and his animals.

Survivors include his son, Aaron Cherry of Amory; his daughter, Tiffany Cherry (Leon) Dean of Butler; two sisters, Debbie Cherry and Susie (Jerry) Holden, all of Butler; two brothers, Timothy Cherry and Robert (Beverly) Mortimer, all of Butler; and five grandchildren, Hannah, Gabriela and Micah Cherry, Joslyn Toth and Phoenix Dean.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Opal Cherry; his parents; his stepmother, Gertrude Cherry; and two brothers.

CHERRY — Visitation for Jeffrey Lynn Cherry, who died Saturday, May 13, 2017, will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton, Miss., and will continue from noon Friday until time of services at 2 p.m. Friday at Meadowood Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Sweatt officiating. Burial will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery in Nettleton, Miss.Pallbearers will be Jonathan Williams, Jay Pollan, Jessie Cornelius, Mike Tubb, Kevin Threadgill and Barrett Morgan.An online guest registry and condolences may be accessed at www.tisdalelannmemorial.com.
