Arthur N. Kloker Jr.

Arthur N. Kloker Jr. passed away peacefully at home Sunday at the age of 77.

He was born Oct. 1, 1941, and was the son of the late Arthur N. Kloker Sr. and the late Marie Fleming Buchanan.

Art grew up in Karns City. He also lived in Cleveland, Ohio, for many years.

Art had a successful lifelong career in the grocery industry, starting with Domino Markets in Chicora, moving on to Friedman's supermarket, Golden Dawn Foods, Seaway Foods, and, up until his retirement in 2016, working as the advertising director with Bi-Rite Supermarkets in Cleveland.

Art loved spending time with his family and friends. His many hobbies included golfing, bowling, target shooting with his son, and riding his Harley with his brother and friends.

Art was a very talented woodworker. He loved to socialize and there was always a good time to be had when he was around.

He will be lovingly remembered forever by his surviving children, Natalie (Alan) Franko, Dori (Serban) Chitu, Shawn Kloker and Kourtney (Clint) Walker; his former wife, Dorothy R. Thomas, the mother of his children and lifelong friend; his grandchildren, Evan Bauer, Dylan Bauer, Shawn Kloker Jr., Bono Chitu and Maya Chitu; and his great-grandson, Axel Oesterling.

Art also is survived by his brothers, Nelson Kloker, Harold Buchanan and Wayne Buchanan; and his sisters, Rosemary Leighton and Linda Fultz.

KLOKER — A celebration of life for Arthur N. Kloker Jr., who died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., Butler.
