Virginia Orock

Virginia Orock, 85, of Portersville, Perry Township, Lawrence County passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Born April 1, 1935, in Cherry Valley, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Cora Stewart Myers.

She was married to Regis E. Orock. He passed away on Sept. 7, 2018.

Virginia was once employed by Nepco in New Castle. She retired in 1991, after 17 years, where she worked as a machinist for Rockwell International in New Castle.

She was a member of the Northwest Pennsylvania Steam Show. She was a proud supporter of the Portersville Food Pantry, where she crafted the pedal tractor raffle and gift baskets and made blankets, which she donated to them. She was extremely proud of the food service certification that she received from Penn State.

Virginia loved cooking and baking. Many people looked forward to receiving her Christmas cookies. Virginia was a generous person, who worked tirelessly for her chosen charities. She lived for her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

Survivors include her daughter, Udora (John) Veltre of New Castle; her son, Doug (Pam) Orock of Hermitage; her brother, Harry Myers Jr.; three granddaughters, Johna (Nick Ruiz) Veltre, Stephanie Orock and Stacia (Mike Charette) Orock; two grandsons, John Veltre and Sheldon Orock; and her great-granddaughter, Ella Reardon.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Jones and Patty Plesniak.

The family would like to thank the staff at Vitas Hospice and her three caregivers, Sandy Goldbach, Beverly Bintrim and her grandson, Johnny, for their kind and compassionate care.

OROCK — Private funeral services for Virginia Orock, who died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, will be held Sunday at Marshall Funeral Home, Ellwood City.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or the Portersville Food Pantry.
