Linda M. King
Linda M. (formerly Stewart) King, 57, of Butler, passed away at 3:10 a.m. Friday at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She was born Aug. 1, 1951, in Freeport, the daughter of the late Warren R. Watt and Dolores Watt of Freeport.
She was a 1969 graduate of Freeport High School and a 1973 graduate of Clarion University, with a degree in elementary education.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church of Cabot. She taught at Butler Catholic, cared for children in her home, and had substitute taught in multiple school districts in the area.
She loved beading, hunting, camping, white-water rafting, canoeing, gardening, NASCAR, Lernerville racing, Pittsburgh's sports teams and taking her grandchildren to do exciting things in the Butler area.
She was involved with PBCers, the national organization for people with primary biliary cirrhosis of the liver, as well as being an advocate for organ donor awareness.
She would be thrilled if more people would sign up to become organ donors. "Just say Yes!"
Surviving are her husband, Charles R. King, whom she married July 3, 2004; her mother, Dolores Watt; her daughter, Heather and her husband, Shamus Young, of Butler; two sons, Nicholas and his wife, Melanie (Nemcek) Stewart, of Orlando, Fla., and James Stewart of Butler; her stepson, Jared King of Butler; three grandchildren, Rachel, Esther and Issac Young, all of Butler; and her brother, Tim and his wife, Cheryl Watt, of Freeport.
She was preceded in death by her father; her paternal grandparents, Richard W. and Myrtle Watt; and her maternal grandparents, Julian and Wladyslawa Nowakowski.
<B>KING</B> — Friends of Linda M. King, who died Friday, July 31, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the <B>Young Funeral Home Ltd.</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 315 Stoney Hollow Road, Cabot, with the Rev. Father Ward Stakem officiating.
