BUTLER TWP — One person was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital following a crash that occurred shortly after noon Thursday at the intersection at Point Plaza and New Castle Road.

According to a female passenger, her daughter from Sewickly was driving and turning left at the Point Plaza traffic light when a vehicle traveling east on New Castle Road hit their driver’s side door.

The driver of the struck vehicle was transported for injuries around 12:30 p.m. The driver’s side of that vehicle sustained severe damage. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

The scene was cleared at 12:45 p.m.

Butler Township police, Butler Ambulance Service, Butler Veterans Affairs Fire Department and Butler Township Volunteer Fire District all responded to the scene.
