Imogene L. Koman
Imogene L. Koman, 91, of Buffalo Township, formerly of Hopewell Township, Beaver County, passed away Friday at Good Samaritan Hospice of Concordia, Jefferson Township.
Born Jan. 29, 1924, in Hopewell Township, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary Ruth (West) Hughes.
Imogene was a homemaker and also was the office manager for McCoy Builders in Sewickley for a number of years. She lived in Buffalo Township over the past 36 years, and before that in Hopewell Township.
She was a graduate of Hopewell High School and a member of the Christ Community Fellowship Church, Buffalo Township. Imogene enjoyed Bible study and formerly was the head of Billy Graham explosion on the East Coast. She enjoyed gardening and bred Boxer dogs.
Imogene is survived by two daughters, Becky Koman (Jody) Miller of Natrona Heights and Karol (John) Galcik of Saxonburg; grandchildren, Caitlin (Andrew) Kish of New Kensington, John (Kelly) Galcik of Lower Burrell, Gabriel (Jennifer) Galcik of Saxonburg and Abigail (Michael) Gorsline of Sayers, Pa.
Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Besides her parents, Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Koman in 2008; her son Lt. USMC Lawrence Ryland Koman, who was killed in action in Vietnam in 1968; three brothers; and one sister.
