Mary Louise Lucas

Mary Louise Lucas, 77, of Butler died Sunday evening at the Good Samaritan Hospice of Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

Born Aug. 4, 1939, in Lyndora, she was a daughter of the late Michael Chuba and Mary Prebula Chuba.

Mary graduated in 1957, from Butler High School, then received her nursing degree in 1960 from the Butler Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She then worked at Butler Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse for more than 40 years.

She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler and had enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers and camping.

Surviving are her three sons, Edward D. Lucas Jr. of Butler, Kenneth D. (Roni) Lucas of Butler and Patrick D. (Tracey) Lucas of Walkersville, Md.; and three grandchildren, Cassidy (Zachary) Cratty, Christopher Lucas and Natalie Lucas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward D. “Dewey” Lucas Sr., who died Aug. 5, 2014; four brothers; and four sisters.

LUCAS — Friends of Mary Louise Lucas, who died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. The Rev. Harry Bielewicz, pastor, will officiate.
