Betty Jean Dickey
Betty Jean Dickey, 89, of Shenango Presbyterian Senior Care, New Wilmington, died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Senior Care in New Wilmington.
Born in Slippery Rock, Sept. 7, 1921, she was the daughter of George Dickey and Florence Glenn Dickey.
She was employed as a Christian missionary in Buffalo, N.Y.
Jean was a committed Christian throughout her life and was a member of the First Alliance Church of New Castle.
Miss Dickey was a 1947 graduate of Bob Jones University, Greenville, S.C.
Surviving are a brother-in-law, the Rev. James Wood of Hatch, N.M.; two nieces, Susan Wood of Midland, Texas, and Mrs. Linda Romeo of Espanola, N.M.; and three cousins, Chuck Dickey of Slippery Rock, Lucille Christian of Sacramento, Calif., and Don Moss of Los Alamos, N.M.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Anna Belle Wood.
<B>DICKEY</B> — Services for Betty Jean Dickey, who died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, will be at <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington, at 1 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Phillip Harrison, pastor of First Alliance Church of New Castle, officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Interment will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery, Slippery Rock.Memorial donations may be made to the Great Commission Fund of the First Alliance Church of New Castle.
