A Philadelphia man was sentenced to 33 months in federal prison last week for his role in a drug trafficking network between Philadelphia and Butler.

Damion Fray, 25, who lived in Butler and Philadelphia, was given the prison sentence after he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl from January 2017 to June 2020, when he was arrested.

Fray and eight others were charged in a 27-count indictment in early June 2020, accusing them of trafficking fentanyl, heroin and crack cocaine between the two cities. In addition to conspiracy to distribute, he was charged with possession with intent to distribute.

Fray was sentenced Aug. 18 in U.S. District Court in Pittsburgh by Judge Robert J. Colville. His sentence includes serving three years of probation after his release from prison. The charge of possession with intent to deliver was dismissed.

Butler County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, state police and the FBI were involved in the investigation that led to the indictment.
