Verda Louise Saylor
Verda Louise Saylor, 86, of the Chicora Medical Center, formerly of Old Grant Avenue, East Butler, died Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital following a lingering illness.
Born Nov. 20, 1921, in Annisville, Washington Township, she was the daughter of Harold Katen and Wyona Irene Hillard Saylor.
She was a Protestant. She graduated from Bruin High School in 1939 and from the Butler Beauty Academy.
She retired in 1986 from Castle Rubber in East Butler, where she worked in the office.
She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Burrows of Palmyra, Mrs. Bonnie DeLaney of Marsailles, Ill., and Mrs. Norine McCall and her husband, Mark, of Rimersburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William C. Saylor and Harold Katen Saylor Jr., and two sisters, Miss Fern Saylor and Mrs. Esther Jane Daubenspeck.
<B>SAYLOR</B>— Friends of Verda Louise Saylor, who died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home</B> in Petrolia. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pat Sawaya, chaplain of Chicora Medical Center, officiating.Burial will follow in the New Salem Cemetery, Annisville.
