John H. Tristani

John H. Tristani of Adams Township died Saturday at UPMC Passavant Cranberry Hospital.

Born in Delmont, he was the son of the late Corradino Joseph and Jean Borio Tristani.

He retired as a foreman at Northern Industries, an asphalt paving company, after many years.

Mr. Tristani was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the Mars VFW.

He loved being with his grandchildren and gardening. He was an avid fan of any Pittsburgh sports team, enjoyed watching basketball and had belonged to various bowling leagues.

He was a member of St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church, Mars.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Louise Tristani, whom he married Oct. 10, 1959, at Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, Glade Mills; a daughter, Lynn Ray, of Butler, and her husband, Carl J. Ray; a son, John C. Tristani, of Penn Township, and his wife, Katheen Tristani; a granddaughter, Celia J. Ray; and three grandsons, Mitchel Colin Ray and Justin Michael and Brenden Patrick Tristani.

He also is survived by a sister, Mary Ellen McGibbney, of Hampton Township; a sister-in-law, Linda Tristani of Houston, Texas; a nephew, John W. (Candie) McGibbney of Mesa, Ariz.; and a number of other nieces and nephews.

His brothers, Nick and Clement Tristani, and an infant brother preceded him in death.

TRISTANI — Friends of John H. Tristani, who died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the HERBERT R. KING JR. FUNERAL HOME, Route 8 at 2841 Woodland Circle, Hampton Township. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Catherine of Sweden Church in Wildwood, Hampton Township, The Rev. Regis Farmer will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Savior Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, PA DE Affiliate, Memorial Processing Center, 777 Penn Center Blvd., Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15235.Information also is available at www.kingfuneralhome.com.
