Sentence court

The following defendants were sentenced Wednesday in Butler County Common Pleas court by Judge Timothy McCune.

Gerald Joseph Tichansky, 61, of Chicora, was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation including 12 months of house arrest, pay a $1,000 fine and complete 150 hours of community service after pleading guilty to a felony charge of aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence filed by state following following a two-vehicle accident on Dec. 19, 2019, in Donegal Township.

Before the sentence was imposed, the victim gave an impact statement saying she was extricated from her vehicle and flown to a hospital following the crash, and was unable to work for several months due to the injuries she suffered.

She said the crash damaged an expander that was implanted in her chest in a double mastectomy she had after surviving a bout with cancer. She said she had to undergo another operation and made weekly visits to her doctor in Pittsburgh due to the damage caused by the crash.

She said her husband took time off work through the federal Family and Medical Leave Act to care for her after the crash and the surgery. She still has neck and back pain, and has difficulty performing normal activities.

Tichansky apologized to the victim, asked for forgiveness and admitted that he was wrong to drive after drinking. His wife, Mary Tichansky, testified is support of her husband and read letters of support from two of their four daughters. A character witness testified that Tichansky does volunteer work at a nursing home for veterans and helps maintain the home and camp of a deceased friend.

Daniel Caltrider, 41, of Altoona, Blair County, was sentenced to 72 hours to six months in prison, pay a $1,000 fine and complete alcohol highway safety school, 40 hours of community service, a victim impact panel and litter pickup after pleading guilty to a charge of DUI filed by state police following a Nov. 20, 2020, incident. Other charges were dismissed.

Todd James Dunmyre, 34, of Butler, was sentenced to serve six to 18 months in prison, but was immediately paroled after pleading guilty to felony charges of possession of heroin with intent to deliver and conspiracy to commit possession with intent to deliver filed by county detectives following a June 10, 2019, incident.

Shawn Douglas Malone, 31, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in prison, pay a $200 fine and complete alcohol highway safety school, 40 hours of community service, a victim impact panel and litter pickup after pleading guilty to charges of DUI and driving without a license filed by Butler City police following an Aug. 12, 2019, incident. Other charges were dismissed.

Brandon Atley Williams, 27, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 36 months of probation and pay $965 in restitution to the Holiday Inn Express in Butler Township after pleading guilty to a charge of theft by unlawful taking filed by Butler Township police following a Nov. 23, 2021, incident.

Troy Jordan Whitmire, 26, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in prison, pay a $1,000 fine and complete alcohol highway safety school, 40 hours of community service, a victim impact panel and litter pickup after he was found guilty of DUI at a non-jury trial in July. Other charges were dismissed. State police filed charges following a Jan. 9, 2021, incident. In a second case, he was sentenced to serve consecutive prison sentences of six to 12 months after pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges of harassment and criminal mischief filed by state police following a Jan. 15, 2021, incident.

Zane Shan Perry, 31, of Butler was sentenced to serve six to 12 months in prison, but was immediately paroled, and pay $110 in restitution to state police after pleading no contest to a charge of possession of a controlled substance filed by state police following a Jan. 23 2021, incident.

Christopher Lee Coy, 61, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation including 15 months of house arrest, pay a $1,500 fine and $25,143 in restitution and complete alcohol highway safety school, 40 hours of community service, a victim impact panel and litter pickup after pleading guilty to his second DUI offense filed by Saxonburg police following a July 30, 2021, incident. Other charges were dismissed.

Jamie John Mellish, 42, of East Butler, was sentenced to serve 11 1/2 to 23 months in prison, but was immediately paroled, and ordered to pay $1,452 in restitution to Rural King after pleading guilty to a felony charge of retail theft filed by state police following a June 11, 2019, incident. In a second case, he was given the same prison sentence, immediately paroled and ordered to pay $411 in restitution to Walmart after pleading guilty to a felony charge of retail theft filed by Butler Township police following a June 28, 2019, incident. In a third case, he was sentenced to six months of probation after pleading guilty to a felony charge of retail theft filed by Cranberry Township police following a Dec. 23, 2019, incident.

Randy Arnold Edwards, 28, of Butler, was sentenced to serve six months of probation including 14 days of house arrest, pay fines totaling $1,200 and complete alcohol highway safety school, 40 hours of community service, a victim impact panel and litter pickup after pleading guilty to charges of DUI and driving without a license filed by state police following an April 3 incident. Other charges were dismissed.

Robert Kevin Garrison, 58, of Coraopolis, Allegheny County, was sentenced to serve 24 months probation and pay $3,158 in restitution to PNC Financial Services after pleading guilty to a charge of theft by deception filed by Cranberry Township police following an April 2, 2019, incident.

Jason Michael Giza, 40, of Butler, was sentenced to serve six concurrent terms of 18 months of probation, pay $2,791 n restitution and complete an anger-management course after pleading guilty to three counts of simple assault and three counts of recklessly endangering another person filed by state police following an Aug. 2, 2020, incident.

Isaiah Shermont Harden Jr., 25, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 36 months of probation and pay $6,005 in restitution to Erie Insurance after pleading guilty to a charge of theft by unlawful taking filed by Cranberry Township police following a June 3, 2021, incident.

Raymond W. Priester, 54, of Butler, was sentenced to serve nine to 23 and 1/2 months in prison, but was immediately paroled, after pleading guilty to a charge of accessing a device issued to another person filed by state police following a June 22, 2021, incident.

Brandon D. McFadden, 22, of Slippery Rock, was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation including 105 days of house arrest, pay a $1,500 fine and $10,006 in restitution and complete alcohol highway safety school, 40 hours of community service, a victim impact panel and litter pickup after pleading guilty to his second DUI offense filed by state police following an Aug. 31, 2021 incident. Other charges were dismissed.

Stacy Renee Byers, 32, of Butler was sentenced to serve six to 18 months in prison, but was immediately paroled, after pleading guilty to a charge of receiving stolen property, and to serve 30 days to 12 months in prison, but was immediately paroled and sentenced to 12 months of probation after pleading guilty to a charge of tampering with evidence filed by Butler City police following a Jan. 29, 2021 incident.

Dawn Denise Kummer, 51, of Butler was sentenced to serve six months of probation including 15 days of house arrest, pay a $1,000 fine and complete alcohol highway safety school, a victim impact panel and litter pick-up after pleading guilty to a charge of DUI filed by state police following a May 24, 2020 incident. Other charges were dismissed.

Stephanie Marie OMalley, 27, of Mars was sentenced to serve two concurrent terms of 12 months probation after pleading guilty to charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and simple assault in separate cases filed by Adams Township police and Butler City police.

Hien T. Vo, 32, of New Wilmington, Lawrence County, was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation including 105 days of house arrest, pay a $1,500 fine and complete alcohol highway safety school, 40 hours of community service, a victim impact panel and litter pickup after pleading guilty to his second DUI offense filed by state police following an April 15, 2021, incident. Other charges were dismissed.

Mitch Alan Dimaria, 33, of West Sunbury, was sentenced to serve six months of probation, pay a $300 fine and complete alcohol highway safety school, a victim impact panel and litter pickup after pleading guilty to a charge of DUI filed by state police following a Feb. 19, 2022, incident. Other charges were dismissed.

Georgette R. Fleeger, 50, of Evans City, was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation and pay a $500 fine after pleading guilty to a charge of statement under penalty filed by Butler Township police following a Nov. 23, 2020, incident.

Amber Rose Hartzell, 32, of Cranberry Township, was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation and complete 25 hours of community service after pleading guilty to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia filed by Cranberry Township police following an April 25, 2021, incident.

Brandon Paul Anthony, 34, of Lower Burrell, Westmoreland County, was sentenced to pay a $100 fine after pleading guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct filed by Butler City police following a May 7, 2020, incident.

Brent E. Henry, 49, of Butler, was sentenced to serve six months of probation including 42 days of house arrest, pay a $1,750 fine and complete alcohol highway safety school, 40 hours of community service, a victim impact panel and litter pickup after pleading guilty to his second DUI offense and driving with a suspended license filed by state police following a Sept. 25, 2021, incident. Other charges were dismissed.

Lance Lorraine Hess, 50, of Chicora, was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation including 12 months of house arrest, pay a $2,500 fine and complete alcohol highway safety school, 40 hours of community service, a victim impact panel and litter pickup after pleading guilty to his third DUI offense filed by state police following a Nov. 11, 2021, incident. Other charges were dismissed.

Alexa Lynn Sisko, 26, of Cranberry Township, was sentenced to serve six months of probation and 25 hours of community service after pleading guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct filed by Jackson Township police following a March 20, 2021, incident.
