Myrtle M. (Brown) Cumberland, of Butler, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2022.

She was born in Butler on Nov. 21, 1940, the daughter of the late William Powell and Emma (Miller) Morrow.

Myrtle graduated from Slippery Rock High School with the class of 1958. She was employed as a nurse’s aide at the Butler VA Medical Center and retired after 28 years. Myrtle enjoyed Christian and country music, reading and most of all spending time with family and friends. She was also known for her strong faith.

Myrtle was the mother of Patty Perez and Susan (Greg) Simpson; and grandmother of Megan, Michelle, Amanda, Nicole, Jamie, Jimmy, Jessica and Kimberly. She also is survived by 14 grandchildren and her good friend, Debbie Livermore.

Along with her parents, Myrtle also was preceded in death by her son, James; and stepfather, Lawrence Morrow.

CUMBERLAND — Family and friends of Myrtle M. (Brown) Cumberland, who died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2022, will be received from 4 to 5 p.m. Friday at the North Street Christian Church, 226 W. North St., Butler.

A service will immediately follow in the church.
