State Police in Armstrong County are seeking information into the whereabouts of a “highly dangerous and violent” Kittanning man who allegedly sexually assaulted and strangled several women.

Police filed two sets of charges Tuesday against Zachary W. Baum, 23, cumulatively including felony counts of rape, unlawful contact with a minor, strangulation, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, disseminating depictions of sex acts, victim intimidation and aggravated indecent assault.

He additionally is accused of 18 associated misdemeanors.

Police described Baum as a white man with dirty blonde hair and green eyes. He has a muscular build, is 6-feet 1-inch tall and weighs 200 pounds.

“Baum is highly dangerous and violent ... Do not attempt to engage Baum,” police said.

Police said Baum’s actions took place over several years, and many of them started with him messaging random women on Facebook and later engaging in sexual acts with them.

“One of the victims was forcibly raped against her will in the middle of the street by the Honey Bear (gas station) in Kittanning,” police said. “Another woman was 16 at the time and raped in his car against her will at Community Park in Kittanning.”

Police said protection from abuse orders have not dissuaded Baum from contacting his accusers. Police said he does so in “an attempt to have the charges dropped.”

If anyone has information on Baum’s whereabouts, they are encouraged to contact Pennsylvania State Police Kittanning at 724-543-2011.
