Edna Joyce Hockenberry Baker

Edna Joyce Hockenberry Baker, 84, of Grove City passed away at her home at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday after a brief illness.

Born in Slippery Rock, on Jan. 3, 1928, she was the daughter of Wilbert Hockenberry and Eulia Michael Hockenberry.

On Sept. 15, 1950, she married Charles M. Baker, who died Feb. 2, 1981.

She worked for G.C. Murphy in Grove City and retired in 1990 from Morco of Cochranton as a production assembler and packer for 21 years. She also worked for McKeever in the kitchen from May 2004 to 2009.

She was a member of the Milledgeville Presbyterian Church, a 1947 graduate of Slippery Rock High School, and she attended Grove City College for one semester. She was a member of the Winmore Club of Cochranton.

Surviving are her two sons, Dana E. Baker of Lockport, Ill., and Marvin C. Baker and his wife, Deborah, of Cochranton; six grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; an infant sister, Josephine Hockenberry; and one sister, Janet McKnight.

BAKER — The funeral service for Edna Joyce Hockenberry Baker, who passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, will be at Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City, at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Brian Ennis, pastor of the Milledgeville Presbyterian Church, officiating.Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday. The burial will be at Crestview Memorial Park, Pine Township.Memorial contributions can be made to the Milledgeville Presbyterian Church, 1425 Carlton Road, Milledgeville, PA 16311.
