Hilliard

Frances Onede Hilliard, 89, formerly of Oneida Valley, passed away Saturday at the Chicora Medical Center.

She was born July 10, 1922, in Leeper, Clarion County, the daughter of the late Jacob Samuel Detrie and Mary Dolly (Crissman) Detrie.

Frances worked in the laundry at the Butler VA Medical Center, now VA Butler Healthcare, for 22 years.

She was a member of the Oneida Valley Free Methodist Church. She also belonged to the ladies auxiliary of the Oneida Valley Fire Company.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Neal (Verreline) Kuhn of Kittanning and Mrs. Bruce (Pauline) Fencil of Butler; two sons and their wives, Norman and Sharon Hilliard of East Butler and Joseph and Kathy Hilliard of Chicora; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her husband, Verrel Joseph Hilliard, who died Sept. 24, 1955; a daughter; a son; two sisters, and four brothers.

<B>HILLIARD </B>— Friends of Frances Onede Hilliard, who died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, will be received at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Chaplain Patricia Sawaya of the Chicora Medical Center officiating.
