Betty Jane Stivenson, 78, of Buffalo Township passed away peacefully at 12:30 p.m. Monday at the Alle-Kiski Medical Center in Natrona Heights.

Betty was born in Fawn Township, Allegheny County, Oct. 3, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Sytha (Haught) Knox.

She was the widow of Elvin G. Stivenson, who preceded her in 2009.

Betty was a faithful member of the Lighthouse Fellowship Center in Sarver and loved being involved with activities at her church.

She worked for a number of years as a candy dipper at Arensberg Candies in Brackenridge.

She enjoyed camping and bowling. Her greatest love was her family and all her grandchildren.

She is survived by her two sons, Randall G. and Janet Stivenson Sr. of Buffalo Township and Roger C. and Valerie Stivenson of Freeport; seven grandsons, Ben (Emily) Rose, Randy (Stephanie) Stivenson Jr,. Matthew, Brandon, Brian, Dylan and Eric Stivenson; and nine great-grandchildren, Hannah, Daris, Madison, Paige, Kaydence, Courtney and Emily Stivenson, and Cassie and Morgan Rose. She also is also survived by her sister, Mildred Traister of Lancaster.

Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra L. Rose, who passed in 1995; three brothers, her twin, Albert and Rich and Earl Knox; and two sisters, Martha Beam and Twilia Crissman.

<B>STIVENSON</B> — Family and friends of Betty Jane Stivenson, who died Monday, March 21, 2011, are being received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the <B>Redmond Funeral Home</B>, 524 High St., Freeport. There will be public visitation at her church, the Lighthouse Fellowship Center, from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. with the Rev Richard Shick officiating.
