John 'Jack' Crider Jr.

John R. "Jack" Crider Jr., 76, of Zelienople, formerly of Evans City, died peacefully Tuesday at his home surrounded by his family.

Born June 26, 1933, in Evans City, he was the son of the late John R. and Cleola (Fehl) Crider.

Mr. Crider was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran and member of the Evans City American Legion.

He retired from MSA after 44 years.

Mr. Crider was a lifetime member of the Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Evans City and a founding member of the Evans City Midget Football League.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Elsie (Morrow) Crider, whom he married July 25, 1964; a daughter, Lisa L. Crider of Zelienople; two sons, Roger J. Crider and his wife, Monica, of Export and Air Force Maj. Jeffrey S. Crider and his wife, Jennifer, of Virginia; four grandchildren, Kelli, Kacie, Jack and Luke; and two nephews, Gary Cooper and his wife, Rose, of Butler and John Cooper of Butler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Debra Sue Crider; and his sister, Elizabeth Cooper.

<B>CRIDER </B>— Friends of John R. "Jack" Crider Jr., who died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B> of Evans City, 116 E. Main St., Evans City. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. John C. Park, his church pastor, officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in the Evans City Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to Westminster United Presbyterian Church, 330 E.
