Kathleen A. Johnston Otte, 62, of 302 S. Main St. died at 3 p.m. Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Akron, Ohio, Feb. 14, 1943, she was the daughter of Robert Johnston and Jerry Thompson Johnston.

Along with her husband, she co-managed the Sea Spray Motel in Nags Head., N.C., in the 1980s-90s. During the 1960-70s, she had been a unit clerk at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She enjoyed reading, listening to music and walking on the beach.

She was a member of Connoquenessing United Methodist Church.

Her husband, Alfred A. Otte, died Oct. 26, 2002.

Surviving is a sister, Nancy Kummer of Meridian; and nieces and nephews Todd Kummer of Pittsburgh, Mark Kummer of Pullman, Wash., Brian Kummer of Meridian, Melissa Tamblin of Dallas, Texas, Matthew Johnson of Nashville, Tenn., Lori Fehl of Cranberry Township, April Otte of Greenfield, Wis., and Melissa Heard of Bangor, Pa.

She also is survived by aunts and uncles, Betty and Tom Gregory and Marcella and Jim Johnston, all of Meridian, and Dorothy Farnen of Connoquenessing; a sister-in-law, Gay Wright of Doylestown; and a number of cousins.

A brother preceded her in death.
