Bessie M. Greenawalt, 101, of Concordia Lutheran Home in Cabot passed away at 2:40 p.m. Thursday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

She was born Oct. 10, 1911, in Jackson Township to the late Harvey O. Dambach and the late Phyllis (Creese) Dambach.

Mrs. Greenawalt was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Greenawalt was a life member of the Tanglewood Senior Center.

Mrs. Greenawalt is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Nicklas Funkhouser and her husband, Norris (Bud), of Renfrew; one son, Donald L. Greenawalt of Butler; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Loma Walczak of Pittsburgh and Lillian Weller of Orange City, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Greenawalt, who she married on April 14, 1931, and who passed away on Aug. 2, 1979; one grandson; three sisters; and four brothers.

GREENAWALT — Friends of Bessie M. Greenawalt, who passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, will be received at the ThompsoN-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, from 1 to 2 p.m.Saturday. Services will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Barry J. Keurulainen of the St. Luke Lutheran Church officiating.Burial will take place in the Brownsdale Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Concordia Lutheran Home, c/o the Development Office, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
