Pipeline meeting set
The Connoquenessing Borough Council recently approved the installation of a pipeline through part of the borough. As a result of this decision, several borough residents decided to sponsor a public meeting to discuss issues relating to pipeline and fracking safety.
The meeting will be held on Monday, March 23, at the Connoquenessing Borough fire hall (150 Main St.) at 6:30 p.m. Borough residents and anyone interested in finding out about possible problems relating to pipelines and fracking are welcome to attend.
Speakers will include Lynda Farrell, executive director of the Pipeline Safety Coalition, and Doug Shields, former city councilman of Pittsburgh. Both are intimately involved with issues relating to pipelines and fracking.
We will also be presenting information on how pipeline locations affect property values. How does the proximity to a pipeline affect your ability to sell, finance, and insure your home?
The film “Groundswell Rising” will also be shown after the presentations.
