TIME CAPSULE: With a quick glance at this photo, you may think it was taken last week when Butler Area School District started its school year. In reality, it was published in the Sept. 17, 1968, issue of the Butler Eagle and tells a story of bus concerns from a different time. The caption tells us this Renfrew bus stop had to be relocated for the students’ safety. At the time, South Butler County School board considered the previous stop a hazardous location as it crossed a bridge over Connoquenessing Creek. When the bridge’s weight limit changed, so did the bus stop. Butler Eagle file photo
