SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University's Old Stone House pilot program in ghost hunting is continuing with a five-part series beginning Friday.The Old Stone House has teamed with the Center for Paranormal Study and Investigation to bring in those interested in learning the skills and to use appropriate equipment in paranormal investigations.The 2011 programs were sellouts.Sessions will be offered from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. Friday and May 19, June 22, July 21, Aug. 17, Sept. 29 and Oct. 19.Nonrefundable tickets are $15 and offered on a first come, first served basis. MONROEVILLE — Comic book legend Stan Lee will headline a list of industry writers, artists and stars set to appear at Pittsburgh Comicon April 20 to 22. Lee is the creator of hundreds of comic book characters, including Spider Man, the Hulk, the X-Men, Iron Man, Daredevil and Thor.Also scheduled to appear is Peter Mayhew, who played Chewbacca in the “Star Wars” films.The annual event will be held at the Monroeville Convention Center, 209 Mall Blvd. Hours are 1 to 7 p.m. April 20, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 21 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 22.Admission is $20 per day or $50 for a three-day pass. PITTSBURGH — The Senator John Heinz History Center and the Pro Football Hall of Fame are collaborating on an exhibition focusing on the history of pro football.“Gridiron Glory: The Best of the Pro Football Hall of Fame” will make its national debut at the history center from Oct. 6 through Jan. 6, 2013, before embarking on a nationwide tour. Included are more than 200 artifacts, rare photographs, and one-of-a-kind documents from the Pro Football Hall of Fame collection, many of which have never been seen outside of the Hall of Fame.Artifacts include Jim Thorpe's Canton Bulldogs sideline blanket, Knute Rockne's 1919 helmet, Vince Lombardi's coaching diagrams, Tom Dempsey's kicking shoe, and Tom Landry's hat.“Gridiron Glory” will also feature unique items from Hall of Fame Steelers, including Franco Harris' cleats and Joe Greene's helmet.For more information visit www.heinzhistory center.org.
