1 dead following Oneida Valley crash Tuesday night

One person died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle, head-on collision Tuesday night on Oneida Valley Road.

According to William Young III, Butler County Coroner, one of the drivers, Joshua Rock, was pronounced dead at Butler Memorial Hospital following the crash.

Two people were also transported by helicopters to Pittsburgh hospitals for injuries, according to Gary Wulff, chief of Oneida Valley Volunteer Fire Department.

Dispatchers reported a two vehicle crash with one vehicle on fire around 8:23 p.m.

Wulff said a Ford SUV was traveling southbound and Nissan SUV was traveling northbound when the vehicles collided.

The driver of the Nissan SUV suffered fatal injuries. The driver of the Ford SUV and a passenger in the Nissan SUV were transported.

State police reconstructed the scene and crews cleared the area around 1 a.m. Wednesday morning. The investigation is ongoing.

Lick Hill Community and Unionville Volunteer Fire departments also responded to the scene.
