A Pittsburgh man accusing of dealing drugs that killed a Cranberry Township man will appear for a preliminary hearing Friday.

Jadan W. Hudson Sr., 22, is being held in Butler County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bond leading to his hearing before District Judge Kevin Flaherty.

State police filed charges Sept. 20 based on an investigation that began the morning of Jan. 8, when the body of Jae Woong Lee, 39, was found at his township home.

Police said a search of Lee’s immediate vicinity turned up “48 glassine bags of heroin, a rolled up $5 bill and Lee’s cellular phone.”

Police said they traced text messages between Lee and Hudson, which showed a sales agreement for 50 stamp bags of heroin for $300 on Jan. 7 at Sheetz, 1329 Freedom Road, Cranberry Township.

“Video surveillance from this Sheetz location clearly shows Lee and Hudson meeting in the men’s room at 11:25 p.m. on Jan. 7 to conduct the drug sale,” police said. “Lee can be seen wearing the same coat the heroin was found in at the scene.”

Police said surveillance footage outside the gas station also showed Hudson’s arrival and departure in a vehicle registered in his name.

Police said they requested a toxicology report along with an autopsy performed by the Butler County Coroner’s office.

“A (National Medical Services) Labs toxicology report was provided along with the autopsy report showing that heroin and fentanyl were present in Lee’s system at the time of death with a particularly high level of fentanyl,” police said.
