Dorothy Smith

Dorothy Smith, 92, of Sugarcreek Township, formerly of Queenstown, died Friday.

Born Feb. 26, 1923, in New Ferry, Cheshire, England, she was the daughter of Thomas S. and Mary (Price) Horswell.

On Nov. 10, 1945, Dorothy married Kenneth L. Smith. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1994.

Dorothy worked in Port Sunlight, England, for 10 years for Lever Brothers manufacturing soap. After coming to America, Dorothy proudly became an American citizen in 1958.

Dorothy loved music, mystery movies and enjoyed sending cards and letters to loved ones.

Surviving are one daughter, Patricia A. (Lonnie) Beabout of Roseville, Pa.; one son, John G. (Jane) Smith of Stafford, Va; and four grandchildren, Lisa Pelly, Paula (Donald) Scholl, Stefen (Kristine) Smith and David (Jeanine) Smith.

She also is survived by seven great-grandchildren, and in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters and two brothers.

SMITH — Friends of Dorothy Smith, who died Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 707 Kellys Way, East Brady.Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Ray Eichler, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in East Brady, officiating.
