Ohio man dies in Turnpike crash
An Ohio man died early Tuesday following a crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Allegheny County near the Butler Valley interchange.
Richard Francis Krupka of Ohio was pronounced dead at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh following the two-vehicle crash at 12:12 a.m. at mile marker 38.2 in Hampton Township, just west of the interchange, state police said.
Police said Krupka was traveling west when lost control of the Nissan Versa he was driving and struck multiple median barriers. The crash disabled all the lights on the car, which came to rest around a bend in the highway on the center line of the westbound lanes with the driver’s door facing oncoming traffic, police said.
