Wanted woman arrested

Erika D. Steighner, 35. of Butler, was arrested June 22nd on a warrant on felony and misdemeanor charges

A woman wanted by Adams Township police for allegedly hitting another person with her car and refusing to let a man out of the vehicle who was only trying to give her directions was arrested early Friday morning.

Erika D. Steighner, 35. of Butler, was arrested on a warrant on charges of felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor unlawful restraint, terroristic threats, simple assault, defiant trespass, harassment, two counts of recklessly endangering another person and summary reckless driving around 6:50 a.m. Friday morning, according to Butler County 911 dispatch calls.

Police said Steighner hit Sylvia Bittel with her vehicle in the 500 block of Beaver Street Extension, Mars, on June 11, and refused to let Mark Metzger out of the car after she asked for his help in finding the home.

Butler County Prison records indicated that Steighner was booked at 7:30 a.m., arraigned and bail was set at $5,000, which was posted and she will be released.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 26 before Magisterial District Judge Wayne Seibel.
