Minor injuries following Chicora Road crash

A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Chicora Road and Grant Avenue Extension on Thursday morning resulted in one driver being transported to a hospital. Molly Miller/Butler Eagle

OAKLAND TWP. — One person was transported for minor injuries following a vehicle crash at the intersection of Chicora Road and Grant Avenue Extension on Thursday morning.

State police on scene said the driver of a gray Hyundai rear-ended a red Chevrolet SUV while traveling on Chicora Road around 10:30 a.m.

The SUV sustained heavy rear-end damage, and its tire came off the left rear axle. The gray vehicle sustained damage to the front right side. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

One driver was transported by Butler Ambulance Service to Butler Memorial Hospital for injuries.

Crews directed traffic onto Grant Avenue Extension while the road was cleared.

Oneida Valley and East Butler volunteer fire company ambulances also responded to the scene.

Roads fully reopened as of 11:10 a.m.
