Guy E. McClelland
Guy E. McClelland, 84, of Apache Junction, Ariz., died July 12 at Banner Hospice in Mesa, Ariz.
Born in Mercer County, Jan. 8, 1921, he was the son of Eugene and Sarah Gardiner McClelland of Butler.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II. In 1983 after 38 years of service, he retired from the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center and moved to Apache Junction.
He was a member of St. George Roman Catholic Church in Apache Junction. He was a life member of the VFW and also belonged to the Elks and Moose clubs.
He grew up in Butler, where he graduated from Butler High School and was a member of St Paul Roman Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Bette L. McClelland of Arizona; his children, Michael McClelland and Mrs. Carl (Pat) Kellerman, both of Butler, Mrs. James (Kim) Pfennigwerth of Clinton, N.C., and Lynn McClelland of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He also is survived by a brother, E.A. McClelland of Reading; and two sisters, Aida Castilyn and Jane Moses, both of Butler.
He was preceded in by death by two brothers, Gardiner and Robert McClelland; a sister, Janet Carper; and a grandson.
McCLELLAND - A funeral Mass for Guy E. McClelland, who died Tuesday, July 12, 2005, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Aug. 1 at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., with the Rev. Harry Bielewicz officiating.
