Wilbert Morrow
Wilbert Russell Morrow, 76, of Hooker Road, Karns City, passed away at his home Friday following a brief illness.
He was born in Franklin on Aug. 27, 1933, and he was a son of the late Russell Morrow and Eva Deal Morrow.
He attended Sandy Creek Elementary School in Venango County near Franklin. He was a member of St. Johns Reformed Church in Chicora where he was a deacon.
He served with the U.S. Army as a member of the military police from 1953 to 1961.
He was employed at Pullman Standard Rail Car in Butler in the pneumatic tool repair department for 18 years. After the plant closed in 1982, he became a self-employed building contractor.
Following retirement, he and his wife, Alice, traveled the country extensively, visiting all 50 states. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and traveling.
He married Alice Mildred Byers on Jan. 28, 1954, in Bruin, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 1, 2008.
Surviving are two sons, John A. Morrow of Chicora and Randy J. Morrow of Blanchard, Pa.; four daughters, Julia K. Barger of Navarre, Fla., Janice L. Allison and her husband, Kenneth, of Franklin, Joyce A. Bittner and her husband, William, of Tuscon, Ariz., formerly of Butler, and Lois J. Holcomb and her husband Timothy of Tallahassee, Fla.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charles Morrow of Chester, W.Va., Marlin Morrow of Bruin, and Keith Morrow of Mercer; two sisters, Janet Nitsche of Mercer and Linda Buckley and her husband, Loren, of Emlenton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Hillis Funeral Home</B> in Petrolia from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at St. Johns Reformed Church in Chicora. Funeral services will be at the church 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. John H. Pistorius, church pastor, officiating.
