Barbara A. Wright
Barbara A. Wright, 84, formerly of Cheswick, Pa., died Friday at Rosebrook Assisted Living in Sarver.
She was born on April 23, 1929, in Ravenswood W.Va., the daughter of the late William and Iva Pearl (Lewis) Rowley.
She graduated from Ravenswood High School, where she was a cheerleader. There she married her husband, Kenneth D. Wright of Murraysville, W.Va. They then moved to Pennsylvania.
While living in Cheswick, she was very active with the PTA. She then moved to Chapel Downs in Harmar Township, where she raised her children before taking a job with the Thrift Drug Store in Fox Chapel. She moved to Saxonburg in 2001 to live with her son, James.
She attended the Pine Creek Presbyterian Church in Dorseyville, where she sang in the choir and then the Emory Chapel Methodist Church in Sarver.
She enjoyed watching the Steelers and golf.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken, and a sister, Lillian Deem.
She is survived by her sons, Pastor Daniel W. and Mary Ann (Samay) Wright of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and James K. and Sandra L. (Wolfe) Wright of Saxonburg. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kelley (Matt) Kramer of Martinsburg, W.Va., Daniel (Stephanie) Wright of Lexington, Va., Severn (Beth) Wright of West Deer, Pa., and Jesse Wright and Emma Wright of Saxonburg; her great-grandchildren, Ava Kramer of West Virginia, Joshua and Page Wright of Virginia and Mya Wright of West Deer, Pa.
WRIGHT — Friends of Barbara A. Wright, who died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Diana Harbison officiating.
