John Paul “Jack” Bowers Sr., 90 Slippery Rock, Slippery Rock Township, Butler County, formerly of West Mifflin, Pa., passed away at Butler Memorial Hospital Friday.

Born in Duquesne, Allegheny County, on May 19, 1922, he was the son of Fred Lentz Bowers and Genevieve Weber. He married Lydia Kovel on June 15, 1946.

BOWERS — The family of John Paul “Jack” Bowers Sr., who passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, will receive friends at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.The family suggests memorial donations to American Legion Post 243, P.O.
