Loyd Ray Barkley

Loyd Ray Barkley, 76, of Fombell passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, while under the care of Concordia of Cranberry.

Born April 22, 1944, in Jackson Township, he was the son of the late Eddie Barkley and Leola Mullenax Barkley.

Loyd proudly served our country in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of the Zelienople Church of the Nazarene, where he served as a greeter and volunteered at the food pantry.

He worked for many years at Traco Windows and Halstead Industries. He also worked in law enforcement as a police officer.

Loyd will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his twin daughters, Amanda J. Johnson and her husband, Steve, of Heath, Texas, and Jodie R. Gillespie and her husband, Shawn, of Butler; his grandchildren, Micah, Mia, Tiana, Kaden, Mateo, Deklan, Jaxon and Maddox; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, Loyd was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rose Marie Barkley, who passed away on May 22, 2017; and his siblings, Edward (Teed) Barkley, Otha (Obe) Barkley, Yvonne (Bonnie) Criss, Ethel (Mick) Fox and Janet Barkley.

BARKLEY — A memorial service for Loyd Ray Barkley, who died Wednesday, March 31, 2021, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 16, 2021, at the Zelienople Church of the Nazarene, 115 Nazarene Court, Fombell.Loyd will be laid to rest with full military honors at 2 p.m. Friday following the service at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville. Rose will be laid to rest with him.Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E.
