A Lawrence County man died in a motorcycle crash at around 4:15 p.m. Thursday in Clinton Township.

Butler County Coroner William Young III did not identify the man, but said the motorcyclist was from the Wampum area of Lawrence County.

The motorcycle had traveled on and off the road a few times for an unknown reason, before crashing into a guard rail and falling off the motorcycle at Glade Mill Road near Kennedy Lane, Young said.

Route 228 was closed while crews dealt with the crash. They were on the scene for more than two-and-a-half hours.

Saxonburg Police Department, Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company, Saxonburg Ambulance and Middlesex Township VFC responded to the scene.
