Scott Hainley
Scott Lee Hainley, 55, of Prospect, peacefully passed away early Sunday morning, Nov. 13, 2022, with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born July 31, 1967, in Aliquippa, he is the son of Carl and Donna Oksala Hainley.
Scott worked at Goodyear Tire Service in Cranberry Township, where he was a service tech and the office manager.
He was a 1987 graduate of Center High School.
After moving to Prospect, Scott’s passion was volunteering at the Prospect-Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department, where he was a loyal member and served as lieutenant and captain in years past. His passion for serving the community was demonstrated by his volunteering for many local events and serving on fire calls through the department. The fire department members were like family to him, especially as he mentored and cared for his best friend, Walter Breidenstein.
Scott enjoyed camping with his family, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Cinnamon Ann Claypoole Hainley, whom he married May 10, 2008; his children, Steele Hainley, who resides at home, Justin (Megan) Hainley of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Dakoda (Samantha) Hainley of Columbus, Ohio; three grandchildren, Spencer, Hailey and Noah; his parents, Carl and Donna Hainley, of Aliquippa; sister, Vicky (Steve) Simon of Scottsdale, Pa.; father-in-law, Leroy Claypoole, of East Brady; mother-in-law, Patricia (James Wagner) Claypoole, of Karns City; friend, Walter Breidenstein of Prospect; and his two pet dogs, Corky and Bandit.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Vivian Herman; great-grandfather, Hugo Oksala; and two uncles, Dale Herman and Richard Herman.
HAINLEY — Visitation for Scott Lee Hainley, who died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022, will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday RAISLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 387 Main St., Prospect. Fireman friends are invited to pay their final respects from 6 to 7 p.m.
Scott’s Prospect VFD family will give a Final Call farewell at 7:30 p.m. at the Prospect-Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department, 373 Main St., Prospect.
The funeral service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park & Mausoleum, 269 Route 68, Rochester, Pa. The Rev. Michael Sourwine, pastor from House of Prayer Lutheran Church, Aliquippa, will officiate.
