Adams Twp. supervisors learn of increase in Callery VFC hall rentals
ADAMS TWP — Callery Volunteer Fire Company’s hall has seen an increase in rentals since recent renovations, supervisors learned Monday night.
Adams Township manager Gary Peaco told supervisors that two weekends have been booked in November, and December is completely booked.
“Their renovations are completed,” he said, speaking for the Callery Volunteer Fire Company. “And it’s very nice.”
On Sept. 17, the volunteer fire company members hosted an open house to celebrate the completion of the renovations, which took two years.
Peaco said that the hall is now open to a variety of private events, including birthday parties and weddings.
Also at the Monday meeting, supervisors approved advertising the 2023 budget. The board will review the budget and accept public comment at a meeting at 8 a.m. Dec. 28, according to Russ Ford, supervisor chairman.
Parks and recreation director Haley Zaliponi addressed preparations for the upcoming Winter Lights in the Park.
Holiday lights for the event have already been installed in the Adams Township Community Park.
The opening day of the event will also feature a visit from Santa, carolers, a bonfire and a fireworks show.
“We’ll soon be ready for a test run,” Zaliponi said. “Kickoff is Dec. 9, but the lights will go on for month.”
