Helen R. Oesterling, 75, of Butler died Thursday at her winter home in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Born Sept. 5, 1931, in Butler, she was the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Conrad) Leinenbach.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian and the church's Christian Mothers group.

Mrs. Oesterling had been a Cub Scout den mother and was in charge of the concession stand for Little League baseball.

She also enjoyed planting flowers, seamstress work and was a member of the Four Seasons bowling league.

Surviving are her two sons, Thomas E. Oesterling of West Mifflin and retired U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Duane D. Oesterling of Butler; two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Lou Ann) Browning of Butler and Deborah D. Oesterling of Butler and St. Petersburg, Fla.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, James Leinenbach of St. Petersburg, Fla., Bernard Leinenbach of Butler and Regis Leinenbach of San Diego, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald E. Oesterling, whom she married Nov. 3, 1951, and who died Sept. 15, 1994.

<B>OESTERLING — </B>Friends of Helen R. Oesterling, who died July 26, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home, </B>201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian with the Rev. George Palick, parochial vicar, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Herman.The bereavement committee of St. Fidelis Parish will meet at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home to recite the rosary.Memorial donations may be made to St. Fidelis Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler, PA 16001.
