Ronald D. Hamilton
Ronald D. Hamilton, 68, of Butler passed away Wednesday at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss. He was returning home from a monthlong vacation in Biloxi.
He was born Feb. 17, 1948, in Freeport, the son of the late Ronald R. Hamilton and Helen (Hildebrand) Hamilton of Vandergrift.
Ronald was a member of St. Andrews Orthodox Church, where he sang in the choir. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army 125th A.T.C. Command Control and served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. He was a graduate of Penn State University and Point Park College, attaining a bachelor's degree in electronic technology. He worked as an engineer. He retired as field manager from the Steris Corporation.
He enjoyed golfing in his golf leagues: Hiland-Worthington on Mondays and Aubreys Couple's League on Thursdays. He was also a member of the Worthington American Legion Post 828. He was a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and Jiujitsu. He was a handy man, he also enjoyed yard work, making wine, and was an avid reader and fisherman.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon (Conrad) Hamilton who he married July 19, 1969; two sons, Mark (Erin) Hamilton of Pittsburgh and Greg (Tara) Hamilton of Butler; his mother; three sisters, Linda Stull of Leechburg, Peggy (Dan) McNally of Leechburg and Jane (Tom) McNally of Vandergrift; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald R. Hamilton.
HAMILTON — Friends of Ronald D. Hamilton, who died Wednesday, March 2, 2016, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.Funeral liturgy will be at St. Andrews Orthodox Church, 201 Penn Ave., Lyndora, at 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Joseph Wargo officiating.
