Thelma I. 'Tommie' Reeder
Thelma I. “Tommie” Reeder, 89, of Slippery Rock passed away at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born July 4, 1922, in Chicora, and was the daughter of the late Joseph S. Parisi and the late Eugenia Responts Parisi.
She was an LPN and retired from United Community Hospital, now the Grove City Medical Center, with 25 years of service. She was a member of the St. Alphonsus Parish, having attended the St. Louis Catholic Church in West Sunbury.
She enjoyed camping, cooking and gardening. She was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan. She also enjoyed playing cards.
She is survived by her son, Richard Reeder and his wife, Irena, of Butler; her son-in-law, Jack Crocker of Ohio; and three grandsons, Nathan Crocker, Gregory Reeder and James and Jenna Reeder. She also is survived by one sister, Twila Baccanti of Chicora; one brother, Larry Parisi of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George “Geordie” Reeder, to whom she was married for 64 years, and who died Oct. 19, 2009; one daughter, Sharon K. Crocker, who died Oct. 15, 2007; two sisters; and one brother.
<B>REEDER</B> — Friends of Thelma I. “Tommie” Reeder, who passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012, will be received at the <B>WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME</B>, 132 Main St, West Sunbury, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian burial will be at the St. Louis Catholic Church, West Sunbury, at 10 a.m. Monday with Father James Bedillion of the St. Alphonsus Parish officiating.Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
