Ralph Marlin “Fireball” Sarvey, 83, of Butler, passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2022, at Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

He was born March 4, 1939, in Butler, and was the son of the late Ralph Lewis Sarvey and Beulah (Aggas) Sarvey.

Ralph was a member of New Testament Baptist Church.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Vietnam era.

He was a member of the American Legion 117.

Ralph had worked at General Electric. He was a self-employed lawn care specialist and had remodeled many homes. He also worked as an aircraft inspector at Pratt Whitney in Hartford, Conn.

He enjoyed playing guitar, accordion and harmonica, and loved country music. He lived for his children and grandchildren.

Surviving are his children, Tamara (Keith) Carbone of Sterling, Va., Lisa LaVigne of Portland, Maine, Kevin (Michelle) LaVigne of Portland, Conn., and Tamula Nolan of Butler; his grandchildren, James (Eric) Rosenfield, Paul LaVigne, Jenesa (Pasty) MpigaTsiba, Luke LaVigne, Kaelynn (Greg) Brown, Kaleb LaVigne, Mabel Kate LaVigne, Tyler LaVigne and Blake Barkett; a number of great-grandchildren; a sister, Glenna (Bob) Weichey of East Butler; and a brother, Dean (Elsie) Sarvey of Butler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Norma Campbell; and his brothers, Silas, Vernon, Raymond, Kenneth and Albert Sarvey.

SARVEY — Friends of Ralph Marlin “Fireball” Sarvey, who died Friday, Nov. 25, 2022, will be received from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. Thursday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.

Military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Greenlawn Burial Estates in Butler, by American Legion Post 117, VFW Post 249 and Lyndora American Legion 778.
