Robert A. Schmeider
Robert A. Schmeider, 92, of Butler passed away at 6:10 a.m. Wednesday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Aug. 23, 1923, in Butler, the son of the late Andrew Schmeider and Melba (Madison) Schmeider Bryant.
He had been a draftsman for the American Car Co. and Pullman Standard.
He was a World War II Navy veteran and also a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his daughter, Jane Hodak of Butler; four sons, Robert Schmeider of Bonita Springs, Fla., Tom Schmeider of Butler, Paul (Paula) Schmeider of Slippery Rock and David (Tracy) Schmeider of Butler; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and his sister, Ruth Kienzle of Butler.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Juanita (Thompson) Schmeider, who died Oct. 16, 2012; his sister, and his parents.
SCHMEIDER — Friends of Robert A. Schmeider, who died Wednesday, March 16, 2016, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 6 p.m. until the time of service at 8 p.m. Sunday with the Rev.
