Nancy Jane Tack

Nancy Jane (MacKinney) Tack, 94, of Worthington passed away Sunday at Meadow Lake Manor.

Mrs. Tack was born Jan. 30, 1921, in Butler to the late John and Elizabeth (Frazier) MacKinney.

She was the co-founder of Sugar Creek Rest in Worthington.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Chicora, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was also a Head Start teacher, a Girl Scout leader and a foster parent.

She belonged to the Allegheny College Alumni Association and was a life-long Democrat.

Mrs. Tack is survived by her sons, Philip (Susan) Tack of Worthington, Kenneth (Maxine) Tack Jr. of Chicora and Walter (Lou Ann) Tack of Freeport; her daughters, Margaret (Robert) Kutz of Richmond, Va., Jean (Karl) Dobay of Freedom, Pa., Helen Tack and her companion, Steve Barsby of Cary, N.C.; her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Tack; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and three foster sons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Kenneth R. Tack Sr., who she married Feb. 7 1942, and who died in 2002; one son, Andrew Tack; two brothers and two sisters.

TACK — The family of Nancy Jane (MacKinney) Tack, who died Sunday, July 19, 2015, would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Meadow Lane Manor and Amedisys Hospice.There will be no public viewing for Mrs. Tack. However, everyone is invited to attend a memorial service at 3 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Chicora, where a reception will follow.Memorial contributions may be made to the Orphans of the Storm, 11878 State Route 85, Kittanning, PA 16201 or to the Don't Stop Dreaming organizations on its website www.dontstopdreaming.org.Arrangements are by the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home in Worthington.
