Charlotte Desmond
Charlotte Raub Valance Desmond, 70, died Sunday in the ACMH hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born April 1, 1936, in Armstrong County, she was the daughter of Esther and William Raub.
She was a homemaker and a baker for the Shady Side Academy in Fox Chapel.
She was a member of the Emory Chapel Methodist Church in Sarver. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed reading.
Surviving are her five children, Janice (Jim) Mickens of Scottsdale, Ariz., John (Leslie) Valance of Cheswick, Kimberly Snyder of Saxonburg, Tony Valance of Sarver, and Will Valance, with whom she lived in Sarver; two grandchildren, Megan Valance and Luke Snyder; three sisters, Margaret (Melvin) Harvey of Sarver, Patricia Klaus of Butler and Susan (Larry)Brink of Sarver; four brothers, Gene (Donna) Raub of Florida, Glenn (Mary)Raub and Harold Raub, all of Cabot, and Dave Raub of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Lou Daum, and three brothers, William, James and Dale Raub.
<B>DESMOND</B> — There will be no visitation for Charlotte Raub Valance Desmond, who died Sunday, July 16, 2006.A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Emory Chapel Methodist Church, Ekastown Road, Sarver.Arrangements are being handled by the <B>Kyper Funeral Home.</B>Memorial donations may be made to the Emory Chapel Methodist Church.
