June P. Worstell
June P. Worstell, 95, of Zelienople passed away Friday at Passavant Retirement Community.
Born Feb. 9, 1920, in Indianapolis, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Howard R. and Ellen H. (Yule) Phillips.
June was a member of the Calvin Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder and a deacon, and she was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
June met her husband, Gaillard J. Worstell, at a USO dance during World War II. Later in life, she assisted her husband with his chiropractic business as a receptionist.
June also hosted exchange students from all over the world. She was president of the Zelienople's Women's Club, a board member of the Zelienople Area Public Library and a former member of the Food Cupboard in Middle Lancaster. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Suellen (Gene) Dornbrook, currently in Argentina; her son, John G. (Kate Parkerson) Worstell of North Carolina; her two grandsons, Zayn Dornbrook and Rahmat (Vicki) Dornbrook; and two great-granddaughters, Isis Dornbrook and Shannon Dornbrook.
In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gaillard J. Worstell, who passed away in 1996; her daughter, Mary Beth Worstell; four sisters; and two brothers.
WORSTELL — A memorial service for June P. Worstell, who died Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 26 at the Calvin Presbyterian Church, 415 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. Dr. N. Graham Standish officiating. A visitation will follow the memorial service at 2 p.m.In lieu of flowers, her family suggests that memorial donations may be made in June's honor to the Zelienople Area Public Library, 227 S. High St., Zelienople, PA 16063, or to the Calvin Presbyterian Church, 415 E.
