Donald Dingel

Donald R. Dingel, 79, of West Sunbury passed away Thursday following a battle with leukemia.

He was born on Dec. 20, 1934, in Millvale. He was the son of the late Jacob W. Dingel Sr. and Susan E. Beadling Dingel.

Don retired from Cooper Energy in Grove City after 42 years of service working in the paint department and as a storeroom attendant.

He was a member of the Butler Area Street Machine Association.

He enjoyed the company of his family, friends and neighbors, and anything to do with cars.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie A. Frye Dingel, who he married on April 18, 1964; his three daughters, Susan Steffy and Donna J. (Frank) Kowalkowski of Butler and Dawn (Kenneth) Steiner of Eau Claire; his two sons, Scott Dingel of West Sunbury and Douglas (Trisha) Dingel of Saxonburg; his eight grandchildren, Frank Jr. and Kyle Kowalkowski, Carla Steffy, Cody Dingel, Dylan Dingel, Nicholas Steiner and Noah and Josephine Dingel; his sister, Martha Augustine of Pardoe; his brother, Paul Dingel of Glen Haven, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jacob W. Dingel Jr., on Nov. 14, 1977.

Dingel— Memorial services for Donald R. Dingel, who passed away Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the United Church of the Nazarene, 544 Halston Road, West Sunbury, with the Rev.
