I cannot understand why Brittney Griner was released from a Russian prison while Paul Whelan is still imprisoned. Mr. Whelan has been in prison since 2018, while Ms. Griner hasn't been there for quite a year.

Why did our government negotiate her release and not his? Mr. Whelan has served this country as a Marine, which should be even more reason to bring him back home. I understand only one American could be released, but I have to question the reason why it was Ms. Griner.
