Guerra

William Guerra, 83, of Zelienople, formerly of Avalon, died Monday morning at the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.

Born in Pittsburgh, Oct. 7, 1924, he was the son of the late Frank and Anna Rose Cristo Guerra.

He was a retired truck driver for Brake Drum in Lawrenceville.

Mr. Guerra was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of the West View VFW Post.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth V. DiGioia Guerra, whom he married in May 1952; a son, William F. Guerra and his wife, Ladonne, of Zelienople; two stepdaughters, Shirley A. Buchsbaum, and her husband, Ken, of Acme and Donna M. Harrold, and her husband, Ken, of Espyville; three sisters, Teresa Ranieri, Rose Hoehle and Georgeanna DePhillips, all of Pittsburgh; four brothers, Lou and Sam Guerra, both of Pittsburgh, James Guerra and his wife, Paula, of Bellevue, and Ernie Guerra and his wife, Georgeann, of Kennedy Township; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Anthony, John and Dominic Guerra.

<B>GUERRA </B>— Friends <B></B>of William Guerra, who died Monday, July 7, 2008, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Hoogebrugge, chaplain at Passavant Retirement Community, officiating.
